Gratitude Blooming 2021 Facilitator License
Welcome!
We are here to support you in bringing Gratitude Blooming into your team, organization or community. This facilitator toolkit includes the Gratitude Blooming 39-card deck, prompts, ice-breaker activities and Gratitude Circle agendas to help get you started. This is your kit of parts. And we encourage you to make it your own.
To begin.
Why gratitude? And why nature?
Nature reminds us that change is constant. Day turns into night. Seeds bloom. Compost makes room for new growth. As humans, however, what is not constant is the pace at which we adapt to change. The brain has a biological bias to see the negative. This bias can lead to getting stuck in a rut. Ruts are habits. Practice disrupts habit.
The practice of gratitude is about noticing. Just like the practice of meditation begins with noticing breath. Or the practice of mindfulness begins with noticing change. The practice of gratitude begins with noticing good.
Gratitude is a social emotion. It’s something you can feel. And something you can share. As a practice, gratitude can shift behavior change. Moreover, when practiced with others in teams or groups, it can shift organizational culture. Culture is what we practice together. Gratitude disrupts the brain’s negative bias. It helps you build your emotional intelligence. It creates healthier patterns and ways for us to show up in the world.
This is a living kit of parts. It will evolve based on what we are learning and hearing from you. Please let us know what is working and how these tools can be improved to fit your personal practice, team and community.
Cheers,
Belinda and Omar
